ENGLISH LANGUAGE CERTIFICATION
ENGLISH - PRE BASIC
ENGLISH - PRE BASIC is a research-based program that meets the needs of all students
who have no knowledge of English. Students learn the sound-symbol relationships
and build a foundation for sounding out words and spelling them. They identify the
short and long vowel patterns and progress from single consonant sounds to consonant
blends. They become skilled at blending vowels and consonants and also master beginning
and ending sounds. The student practices both visual and auditory discrimination
with pairs of consonant sounds. The program builds the vocabulary and introduces
